First look: Screw Cancer Jersey
Ultra-endurance cyclist, Laura Scott, launches her “Screw Cancer” Ice Cream jersey and it looks pretty tasty...
Laura Scott, ultra-endurance cyclist, has launched a “Screw Cancer” Ice Cream jersey in memory of her father, Lawrence Scott, who lost his battle with Brain Cancer in June.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the jersey, Laura says: “Watching someone you love lose their battle against cancer makes you feel so helpless in so many ways. After losing my dad earlier this year, I wanted to do something to try to make a difference.
“I decided to create a cycling jersey that could help to raise money for Cancer Research.
“When it came to the design, I wanted to do something fun and I wanted it to be a reminder of the good memories I had with dad, so I immediately turned to ice cream.
"My dad always had a sweet tooth, so when he found out he had terminal cancer, he said ‘Screw Cancer, I'm going to eat ice cream every day.’ He did and it became a big reminder to remember to enjoy all the little things in life.”
All profits from the sales of the jersey will be donated to Cancer Research UK and Brain Tumour Research, who support laboratory-based scientists conducting world-class research into brain tumors.
